In educational testing and psychometric research, analysis of aberrant item response patterns has received increased attention in recent years. This study is to investigate statistical properties (e.g., empirical Type I error rate and power) of several indexes in indentifying aberrant item response patterns. Simulated data under different factors will be employed.
Psychometric and statistical interns will participate in analyses of simulated data in areas such as scaling, IRT calibrations and scoring.
To qualify, candidates must be doctoral students currently enrolled in measurement, statistics, educational and/or quantitative psychology or related programs. Knowledge and research experiences in IRT simulation studies, SAS, computer programming skills in R or FORTRAN, knowledge and experiences in IRT parameter estimation, and good professional writing skills are preferred. Finalist(s) for this position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background check as a condition of employment.
