General Statement of Duties

Temporary position and is open until filled. No more than 29 hours per week.

The Community Engagement Facilitator is a temporary position in the department of Family and Community Engagement (FACE).


Essential Duties

The temporary liaison is committed to building resource-rich school communities, bridging high-impact partnerships and collaborations, and boosting transformative family engagement. With a focus on community-based outreach, this position will support student success and family connectedness. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:




  • Lead initiatives and special projects of the FACE division
  • Provide support for full time staff as needed with regards to community centric efforts
  • Prioritize connections to families in support of capacity building, access, and opportunities for all students to achieve
  • Support community-based outreach efforts through the mobile resource center, to include, keeping the resource center organized, connecting with HCPS and Henrico based supports regarding outreach efforts, and scheduling maintenance
  • Planning and execution support of district-wide outreach events and efforts that are relevant and responsive to Henrico students and families
  • Serve as a liaison to various community groups and committees on behalf of the FACE division
  • Support with connections to school communities regarding engagement efforts and the HCPS community school model
  • Performs other duties as assigned

This candidate exhibits strong written and oral communication skills to clearly collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; Works a flexible schedule to accommodate the many day/evening/weekend events that support families, schools, and the community. Attends work as scheduled and is eagerly engaged in job responsibilities.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



Knowledge of Social Services, agencies' standards and regulations, and guidance. Ability to organize and lead adult education workshops; works effectively with adult groups, parents, students, staff, and community agencies to implement programs; maintains accurate records, develops educational materials, and trains others; works independently, including in high pressure and difficult situations; prioritizes work schedules, identifies solutions and is a critical thinker.























Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree required. (Bachelor’s Degree preferred). Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar setting; Availability to work occasional evenings, nights and weekends










Additional Information

$22.93 per hour. This is a temporary position and is open until filled.
