Job Description

Supports high quality laboratory testing in the Cytogenetic Laboratory.  Performs complex genetic testing (tissue culture/harvesting, karyotyping and FISH) to identify somatic and germline chromosomal abnormalities to support patient diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plans. Performs and documents quality control, troubleshoots quality control issues, performs preventative maintenance, assists with training laboratory personnel, participates in continuing education and models Standards of Behavior in daily interactions and activities.

Additional Job Description

Education:

• Bachelor of Science degree and certification as a Cytogenetic Technologist CG(ASCP)

  • Five years of clinical laboratory experience. Prefer experience in cancer cytogenetics.
