General Statement of Duties
Temporary position and is open until filled. No more than 12 hours per week.
A temporary hourly position employed by Henrico County Public Schools and assigned to a specific community school site. Works closely with the school principal, instructional staff, families, and community partners to coordinate services aimed at supporting student learning opportunities.
Essential Duties
- Monitors students as designated
- Provides one on one instruction with students when directed by building administrator and/or the teacher
- Assists with instruction as supervised by building administrator or the teacher
- Collects data on student performance and progress directed by building administrator and/or the teacher
- Reinforce classroom instruction through drill and practice activities with individual students or small groups
- Attend work daily and is engaged on task
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate and a passing score on the ParaPro Test, or 60-credit hours from an accredited college/university or a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Must be able to follow oral and written directions and be able to control a student group independent of an immediate supervisor. Must possess a working knowledge of computers; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Desire to help teacher and students.
Must not be a current non-exempt employee.
Additional Information
$15.76 per hour This is a temporary position and is open until filled.
This vacancy is for an after-school instructional assistant position working with 6th grade students. Classes are held Monday through Thursday 3:30 to 6:15.
