The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a board-certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology within its nationally recognized Department of Pediatrics in coastal South Carolina.  This is a highly desirable NO-CALL/NO-WEEKEND full-time position near Myrtle Beach.  The qualified pediatric gastroenterologist will enjoy a rewarding and diverse career that includes clinical care, involvement in leading-edge research, and the education of future leaders in pediatric care.

The Gastroenterology & GI Surgery program is repeatedly recognized on the US News & World Report Best Children’s Hospital Rankings, and it is the largest and most comprehensive program in the region. The program maintains an active consultation service for children with gastrointestinal, nutritional, and liver problems. The Pediatric Gastroenterology Division performs over 10,000 outpatient visits, 2,000 inpatient consultations, and 1,100 procedures annually with an emphasis on excellence in clinical care. The team is the only pediatric liver transplant center and motility center in South Carolina. We also collaborate with many other specialties at MUSC Children’s Health to treat patients holistically.

In 2020, MUSC Children’s Health opened the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion, a 100,000 square foot, 250-bed, state-of-the-art building that is transforming the delivery of fetal, women’s and children’s care in the region. Supporting the outstanding clinical care at our Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion is the Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute, the largest pediatric research facility in the Carolinas, and one of only 15 like it in the country.

Opportunity Details:

  • MUSC Children’s Health Pediatric Gastroenterology is seeking to expand our outpatient consultation delivery near Myrtle Beach (Murrells Inlet), SC
  • Currently, our providers service 1 day/week in that area, and due to high demand, we seek to offer a full-time pediatric gastroenterologist the opportunity to live, work, and play without having to worry about taking-call or fielding afterhours phone calls
  • The Murrells Inlet clinic is a MUSC pediatric multi-subspecialty office location
  • Join a collaborative team of 8 faculty physicians, 4 APPs, dieticians and nutritionists
  • 1 admin day and 4 clinic days per week, average 12 patients per day.
