Job Description

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a board-certified/eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician to join our dynamic, growing division. This faculty member will have opportunities for career growth in administration, quality improvement, education, and/or clinical leadership, with structured mentorship readily available in each domain for junior faculty.

The Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital is an award-winning facility that opened in 2020. The Emergency Department is a state-of-the-art, 20-bed unit with an annual census approaching 30,000 patients. Patient care is supported by a well-established PEM fellowship program, an experienced cohort of advance practice practitioners (APPs), and an in situ Mental/Behavioral Health team consisting of psychiatric attendings, fellows, APPs, and social workers. Our ED is the only ACS-certified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the state.
