General Statement of Duties

Successful candidate will be required to support the instructional needs of the Commercial Photography program at the Advanced Career Education Center (ACE) at Hermitage. This position also includes teaching several Technology Education classes that have a design/communications emphasis to support the Center’s entrepreneurship program.

  • Successful candidate will provide theory and hands-on practice to high school students at Hermitage Technical Center in the above mention field.
  • The individual in this position must have an understanding of the diverse needs of students.
  • The teacher should have high expectations of students and provide instruction in a manner that motivates students to learn, raise self-esteem, and result in outcomes important for successful living.

Essential Duties


The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Program Duties and Expectations:

  • Teach theory and practical application of commercial photography
  • Teach theory and practical application of Technology Education that may include Communication Systems or Graphic Communication Systems.
  • Develop business partnerships that support program goals
  • Sponsor an active student organization SkillsUSA and support student participate in competitions
  • Maintain complete records of student performance and attendance
  • Maintain a learning environment and atmosphere conducive to safe, orderly, and effective instruction
  • Make effective use of new technologies in the delivery of instruction
  • Takes all necessary precautions to protect and to maintain facilities, equipment, and materials
  • Participate in a variety of activities to keep professional skills, curriculum, and instruction current
  • Attends work daily and be engaged in job responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, community, and school personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must hold or be eligible for BOTH a Technical Professional License in Commercial Photography AND a Technology Education endorsement
  • Hold Part 107 Certificate through the Federal Aviation Administration or willingness to obtain within the first year

Additional Information

This is a 239 Day or 11-month assignment with a July 1, 2024 start date.

· Minimum annual starting salary: $63,921 (Bachelors) , $66,989 (Masters)
