Job Description:

VCU Health System's Blood Bank is seeking a part time Student Worker. The CLS Student Worker provides accurate and timely testing and results to requesting physicians and other healthcare professionals for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease under the guidance and supervision of a Medical Technologist. The SW consistently utilizes excellent customer service skills to both internal and external customers at all times. A positive and professional interpersonal style with a strong commitment to the team effort is mandatory.

Responsibilities
Performance of procedures, evaluation and reporting of results as outlined in the manual of standard operating procedures.
Notification of panic values to ordering physicians.
Customer service oriented communications
Rotating weekends
Holiday scheduling as required

Qualifications

Required
Currently enrolled and in the 3rd year of an accredited Bachelor Degree Program in Clinical Laboratory Science or
Currently enrolled in Masters Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science

Preferred
Previous clinical laboratory experience
