Job Description:

License and Certification Qualifications: Valid Georgia teaching certification required.

Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Three years of teaching experience required. Experience delivering professional learning opportunities and experience working with the development of pre-service or in-service teachers preferred.

Skills Qualifications: Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects concurrently; ability to create and deliver professional learning that supports the vision, mission, and goals of the district; strong communication skills, both in oral and written format; knowledge of the change process and ability to help teachers/ leaders make sense of change; ability to think flexibly and to adapt work to the needs of teachers/leaders; strong technology skills, including the use of the Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge and application of research-based instructional strategies; ability to work successfully with colleagues; ability to project and generate a positive attitude; and ability to effect change.

Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for professional learning development and delivery, data collection and evaluation, and various tasks that support the development, revision, implementation, and improvement for teaching and learning.

1.      Develop and facilitate high-quality staff development opportunities based on district, program, and local school needs as determined by various data sources.
a.        Leverage professional learning best practices.      

b.        Utilize and align the Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies when designing and implementing professional learning.  
c.        Use pedagogical and content-specific knowledge to support teaching and learning.
d.        Collect data to measure effectiveness of professional learning in improving knowledge and skills.
e.        Provide implementation support that is differentiated based on need to maximize transfer of professional learning.
f.         Monitor implementation and collect data to measure transfer of professional learning into practice.  


2.        Support Staff Development programs including Teach Gwinnett, Coach Endorsement, and Mentor Gwinnett.
a.        Develop and implement on-going professional learning for one or more programs that meets the needs of the teachers.
b.        Serve as Supervisor and Lead Coach when appropriate and document effective and timely feedback provided to teachers.
c.        Provide differentiated coaching support to individuals and groups of teachers as needed.
d.        Develop and implement processes to support program management.

3.        Support the implementation of job-embedded professional learning at the local school levels.
a.        Provide professional learning support aligned to the Local School Plans for Improvement (LSPI).
b.        Engage in coaching cycles which may include, but are not limited to, co-planning instruction based upon student needs, modeling, observing, co-teaching, guiding teachers in  
looking at student work, and supporting data analysis.
c.        Leverage a variety of assessment tools and data sources to measure improvement.


4.        Support and implement district and department initiatives, goals, and objectives.       
a.        Interpret district and department initiatives, goals, and objectives to various audiences.
b.        Network and seek resources at the local, regional, and national levels as appropriate to assist initiatives.

5.        Manage multiple projects through strong organization, detailed plans, and balancing of multiple priorities.

a.        Summarize work on a regular basis and maintain open communication regarding the status of projects.
b.        Complete tasks with high quality under defined deadlines.  


6.        Engage in continuous development of coaching skills and practices.
a.        Participate in coaching and teacher leader professional development opportunities.
b.        Utilize professional learning resources to support personal development.
c.        Implement research based coaching practices.

7.        Establish trust, rapport, and credibility within the district.
a.        Work well with colleagues and demonstrate and maintain productive and positive interpersonal skills.

b.        Communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders in both oral and written forms.
c.        Anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs in a high-quality and courteous manner.

8.        Leverage learning opportunities in a constantly changing environment.
a.        Adapt flexibly in shifting projects or priorities to meet the needs of a dynamic transformation effort.
b.        Identify possibilities and see challenges as opportunities for creative problem solving.
c.        Take initiative to explore issues and find potential innovative solutions.

9.       Perform Title II, Part A allowable duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
