VCU Health System's Operating Room is seeking a full time Surgical Technologist. The Surgical Technologist (operating room scrub technician) sets up sterile field, gathers supplies for surgical cases, based on knowledge of instruments and equipment to be used. May pass instruments to surgeons. Performs count procedures per policy during surgical cases. Functions under the direct supervision of an RN circulator

Qualifications

Required

Must achieve CST within 24 months of hire

0-2 years experience as a surgical technologist

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program or military training program

Current AHA,BLS,HCP Certification

Preferred

Experience working in an acute care setting as a nursing assistant or aide, if no surgical technologist experience

Surgical Technologist certification

Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Surgical Technologist

Selected applicants will be slotted into appropriate levels for this position based on their experience and qualifications.
