School Nutrition Manager

188 Day Position

Salary: School Nutrition Salary Scale ~ NOTE: The  2019-2020 Salary Scales will be posted as soon as they become available.

The School Nutrition Program Manager is directly responsible to the Principal and will work cooperatively with the Director of School Nutrition.
                                   
  1. Supervise School Nutrition Assistants assigned to the school.
  2. Plan menus and order food and supplies.
  3. Supervise the preparation and serving of food.
  4. Handle all bookkeeping required in the operation of the school nutrition program:
    1. County and balance all lunchroom money on a daily basis;
    2. Prepare daily bank deposits and have these deposits reviewed by a second party prior to deposit.
  5. Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and cafeteria area.
  6. Report immediately to the Principal any problem or accident occurring in the kitchen or on cafeteria premises.
  7. Maintain confidentiality of all information concerning students, staff, and school business.
  8. Participate in training required by the school system.
  9. Prepare a daily production and cleaning schedule.
  10. Maintain daily records as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
  11. Provide an accurate count of students served daily.
  12. Assist the Principal in completing an annual written evaluation of each school nutrition employee in the school.
  13. Work to involve students and parents in the school nutrition program on a regular basis.
  14.  Maintain a positive net worth by operating the nutrition program within a budget.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. Minimum of one year of experience working as a school nutrition assistant in a public school setting preferred.
  3. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  4. Demonstrated technological competencies.
  5. High integrity, excellent character, and good professional reputation.
  6. Abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  7. Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  8. Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Some kneeling required.
  9. Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  10. Ability to work in conditions with extreme cold or heat.
  11. Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
