Job Description:

VCU Health System's Information Systems is seeking a full time Senior Systems Administrator. Their primary duties will be to performs all system administration functions including asset management, planning, and performance tuning utilizing various system toolsets and work with vendors in the configuration of desktops/end-user hardware.

Responsibilities

Utilizes considerable latitude in determining objectives of assignments and determining approaches to solutions with work performed from a long-term perspective and for achieving desired objectives.
Performs software product installations, setup and configuring of new enterprise and local systems.
Maintains assigned systems keeping functionality and configurations current to scope of supported business processes.
Enhances capabilities and value of assigned systems through build of new functionality and development of routine and ad hoc reports.
Evaluates new hardware and software solutions, and makes recommendations to management
Collaborates with vendors, IT staff, management, and the platforms architect in managing and growing the platforms and storage environments.
Applies extensive technical expertise in principle discipline and broad knowledge in related disciplines in revising or developing new methods and procedures.
Provides solutions to highly complex technical problems requiring frequent use of creativity and ingenuity and an in-depth analysis and evaluation of multiple factors.
May lead teams and provide input into performance evaluations.
Migrates the client to the newest version of SharePoint.
Consults Clients on SharePoint implementation and uses as well as third party
applications that may be involved in any implementation.
Discovers, designs and implements Advanced SharePoint solutions for clients.
Manages SharePoint implementations from initial installation to maintenance and further custom design.
Works with Development, Consulting and Business Intelligence teams to
meet project goals.
Customer Service and Support.
Contributes to overall team goals through effective communication, a positive attitude and team collaboration.

Qualifications

Required

A Bachelor's Degree with six (6) to eight (8) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of related education and experience
Highest level of understanding of system architectures, both software and hardware components. Strong knowledge of system performance and tuning techniques.
Comprehensive understanding of the interaction of system and application programs.
Well versed in additional technologies: network, Web, system security functions.

Preferred

Skilled IT professional with experience in software analysis, design, and development
Extensive experience with SharePoint
MCTS and MCITP certifications for SharePoint
Configuration a plus
Proven track record of successful implementations of SharePoint in an enterprise environment
Documentation experience in Analysis
Scope, Software Requirements Specifications and Software Design.
Experience working with SQL Server
