SCHOOL SECRETARY                                                      Location:  Central High
Position: 10.5 Months 8 Hours                    
Open Date: 07/19/19                                                          Closing Date: 07/26/19
Starting Pay: $13.50-$15.00
 
Essential Job Functions:
Under the direction of an Assistant Principal and school counselors, manage the counseling office, serve as building liaison for new student registration, prepare and maintain student records, answer department telephone, manage counseling lobby traffic and support students/families appropriately, schedule appointments for students and parents, supervise student office aide workers, provide task support for counselors, as well as varied other school related tasks and duties. Under the direction of an Assistant Principal and school counselors, manage the counseling office, serve as building liaison for new student registration, prepare and maintain student records, answer department telephone, manage counseling lobby traffic and support students/families appropriately, schedule appointments for students and parents, supervise student office aide workers, provide task support for counselors, as well as varied other school related tasks and duties.
 
Qualifications Required:
  • 2+ years experience in an office environment
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Google applications (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive); ability to learn new software (i.e. Infinite Campus, Naviance, etc).
  • Ability to function in a multi-tasking, deadline oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to relate effectively with tact, courtesy and discretion with staff, students and parents while maintaining confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Mobility to move in and around building
