Exemplary knowledge in all content areas - Gifted Certified Teacher with experience preferred.  
 

190 Day Position

 

Salary:  190 Day Teacher Salary Scale     The salary will be pro-rated for the remainder of the  2019-2020 school Year.

  The Teacher of Gifted Students is responsible to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. The Teacher of Gifted Students must be able to perform tasks involving light lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling and must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. Vision, hearing, and verbal communication are essential factors in performing required tasks, duties, and responsibilities.
 
The Teacher of Gifted Students shall:
                                               
1.) Implement procedures approved by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for identifying students who meet eligibility requirements for the gifted as prescribed in state regulations and procedures.
 
2.) Clear his or her schedule with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
 
3.) Enroll students in the Program for Gifted Students in accordance with program placement procedures
 
4.) Evaluate student work using procedures and criteria specified in state regulations.
 
5.) Maintain a case load that does not exceed the maximum case load set by the State.
 
6.) Provide consultative and resource services to local school staff who are working with gifted students on approved projects.
 
7.) Participate in parental conferences when requested by the Principal.
 
8.) Initiate joint Principal-parent conferences with the approval of the Principal and submit to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction minutes of said conferences stating the date, time, place, person involved, purpose and outcome, immediately following meetings.
 
9.) Implement record-keeping procedures and maintain inventories for all materials checked out to the teacher.
 
10.) Submit requests for materials and equipment to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for approval to process the order.
 
11.) Submit to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction an inventory list of the materials and equipment either during or before post planning week.
 
12.) Implement the approved delivery model in the assigned schools and in accordance with system and state policies and regulations.
 
13.) Forward to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction a copy of placement meeting minutes immediately following the meeting.
 
14.) Serve as a member of the Gifted Placement Committee in each of the Teacher’s assigned schools.
 
15.) Notify the Principals and the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction if he or she is unable to meet with a student.
 
16.) Take all precautions to ensure confidentiality for students, student records, parents, staff and school business.
