The Duke Functional Genomics Shared Resource is seeking a Research Technician II to support activities in the areas of high-throughput CRISPR screening, chemical screening and cell line engineering. Position will be for approximately one year with extensions contingent upon funding, performance, and needs of Functional Genomics Shared Resource.

Duties:

· Interact with users of the Duke Functional Genomics Shared Resource to assist on projects.

· Assist in facility operations, including scheduling of projects and instrument usage, maintenance of lab stocks and respond to inquiries for facility services.

· Assist with procedures for genome editing experiments, including cell culture, DNA preps, PCR and analysis.

· Oversee functional genomic and compound screening procedures and maintain and train users on high-throughput screening equipment.

· Review scientific literature to remain current with new developments in relevant areas, including genome editing and functional genomics.

Education

Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.

Experience
