Work Performed
Prepare patients, equipmen t and supplies for specific procedures andprovide manual assistance as r equired.Obtain and record patient data for medical records noting andinf ormeprocedures to patients including,but not limited to, feeding, bathin g,shaving, changing clothing,cleaning and trimming fingernails, bed-maki ng,reinforcing teaching instructed byRN and/or physician as needed.Assis tphysician and nurses with physical examinations by helpingposition patients, changing non-sterile dressing and weighing patients.Take and recor dvital signs, record I&O, apply ice bags, administerdouches and enemas.N oteand report any changes in patient's condition.Turn and position patie nts, set up and feed patients as necessary,provide patients with freshdr inking water.Perform fingersticks for blood glucose testing, with approp riatetraining.Assist with admission, discharge, and transportation ofpat ients.Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipmentasrequired.Collect, deliver and conduct routine tests on patient specime ns.Clean assigned area; stock and replenish supplies and equipment asreq uired.Participate in own professional development by maintaining require dskills validation and attending educational offerings. Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NA I) with the Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect or misappropriation of property.
