General Statement of Duties

CodeRVA Regional High School seeks a passionate, highly qualified, experienced, professional educator to serve as an instructional facilitator with blended learning as the cornerstones of instructional delivery. This highly innovative instructional model will require a flexible educator willing to build individual relationships with a diverse student body with a range of learning needs and learn and adapt instruction to personalize learning to meet student needs.

Essential Duties

  • Plans and facilitates instruction to students in a blended-learning setting.
  • Reviews, revises, and creates curricula and learning resources for mathematics courses.
  • Supports and incorporates software development methodologies and computer programming into daily instruction.
  • Plans, facilitates and monitors student progress and assesses skills in communication (oral and written), collaboration, critical thinking, and confidence.
  • Monitors and assesses students' learning on an ongoing basis and alters instruction to meet group/individual needs, including remediation and intervention services.
  • Maintains familiarity with Virginia Standards of Learning and assessment system.
  • Uses the CodeRVA curriculum and student progress data to plan daily instructional activities.
  • Collaborates with other faculty in planning and facilitating student instruction that integrates learning within and among academic disciplines, integrates applied learning scenarios, and incorporates project-based learning.
  • Maintains order within the instructional setting in accordance with division guidelines regarding student behavior management.
  • Supervises students in non-instructional time (before school, after school, student activities, fire drills).
  • Communicates regularly with parents.
  • Ensures compliance with existing applicable federal and state statutes and local policies, regulations and guidelines related to public schools.
  • Demonstrates commitment to improving professional competence.
  • Performs other duties as established by School Board Policy.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Computer Science, Business Information Technology, Mathematics, or Technology Education.
  • Prior experience working with students of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, utilizing blended and project-based learning, developing curriculum and assessing student achievement preferred.
  • The ability to speak Spanish is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires knowledge of the concepts, principles and methodologies of instruction as well as general knowledge of academic curriculum for assigned classes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop instructional goals to design and deliver instruction and to assess student learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with others effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability in decision making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, and planning.

Additional Information

This is an 11-month teaching position with a July 1, 2024, start date.

B.A & B.S. - $55,743.69

M.A & M.S - $58,419.53

(* The annual salary provided above is based on the current 2023-2024 CodeRVA financial plan. This assignment will be subject to any increases provided for in the 2024-2025 SY budget to be approved later this month.)
