Location: 2800 W 7th Ave. Denver

Work Year: Traditional 245 work days - AMLG/FMGR/GRND/PROTECH

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $29.34 - $35.30 per hour

About this job:


The Fire Alarm Technician repairs, tests, and troubleshoots all fire-alarm and clock equipment in order to achieve a 100% system function for life safety.

What You'll Do:

  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs digital fire alarm systems.
  • Connects power supply wires to equipment, and connects cables and wires between equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components related to fire alarm.
  • Diagnoses, repairs or replaces faulty electronic components in fire alarm control systems.
  • Conducts fire alarm system inspections with local fire department.
  • Communicates and coordinates with external testing company, and corrects deficiencies in accordance with local fire code.
  • Responds to fire alarms and conducts fire drills.
  • Determines products and supplies needed for work order; coordinates purchase order and obtains supplies from local vendors.
  • Prepares and cleans up job site, taking into consideration safety concerns of self and others (e.g., students, employees), and disposes of waste and flammable materials.
  • Updates and maintains fire alarm system testing documentation.
  • Performs work and cross trains in at least one other trade as an apprentice.
  • Assists with snow removal efforts on a 24 hour on-call basis.
  • Responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Perform other duties, as needed.

What You’ll Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Four(4) years related experience.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and meet District insurability standards.
  • Denver Fire License required.
