Salary Range: $29.34 - $35.30 per hour

About this job:
The Fire Alarm Technician repairs, tests, and troubleshoots all fire-alarm and clock equipment in order to achieve a 100% system function for life safety.

What You'll Do:
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs digital fire alarm systems.
- Connects power supply wires to equipment, and connects cables and wires between equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Replaces faulty electrical components related to fire alarm.
- Diagnoses, repairs or replaces faulty electronic components in fire alarm control systems.
- Conducts fire alarm system inspections with local fire department.
- Communicates and coordinates with external testing company, and corrects deficiencies in accordance with local fire code.
- Responds to fire alarms and conducts fire drills.
- Determines products and supplies needed for work order; coordinates purchase order and obtains supplies from local vendors.
- Prepares and cleans up job site, taking into consideration safety concerns of self and others (e.g., students, employees), and disposes of waste and flammable materials.
- Updates and maintains fire alarm system testing documentation.
- Performs work and cross trains in at least one other trade as an apprentice.
- Assists with snow removal efforts on a 24 hour on-call basis.
- Responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Four(4) years related experience.
- Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and meet District insurability standards.
- Denver Fire License required.
