DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for organizational matters regarding the boys swim and dive program, such as maintaining close communication with the Athletic Director, community involvement with the team’s Boosters organization, for example, meeting with parents and alumni, etc.
2. Adhere to the Code of Conduct for Coaches to be established by athletic department and know and understand the rules in the Student Handbook as it pertains to athletics
3.Monitor academic climate of all players; check grades and credits regarding eligibility and quarterly progress during the school year. Maintain behavior expectations among players.
4. Work closely with guidance department regarding colleges that are of interest to team members. Establish relationships with college coaches and preparatory school representatives.
5. Oversee and evaluate lower level and assistant coaches on a seasonal basis and report findings to the Athletic Director.
6. Recommend selection of assistant coaches to the Athletic Director for final confirmation by the Principal, based on the posting, screening, interview, and selection process.
7. Attend clinics, conferences and other meetings on a state and league level. Mandatory Participation for all Dual County League meetings both prior and post season.
8. Stay informed about changes in rules and regulations in MIAA and Dual County League
9. Complete perpetual inventory of all usable indoor track equipment equipment. Prepare annual budget report for equipment, supplies, etc.
11. Work with school administration, nurses, and trainer on physical and mental well being of student athletes.
12. Confer with the Athletic Director on schedules for non-league games and pre-season scrimmages.
13. Assume responsibility for school facilities including locker rooms and swimming pool, pool deck, warm up/cool down areas, etc. Check all areas after everyone else has left premises.
14. Assume responsibility for the overall safety and site supervision for student athletesw, staff, and spectators during pracitces and competitions, including the prevention of propped doors or other access points taht could lead to inadvertent acdcess to the pool deck and/or swimming pool, before, during, and after school-sponsored events - this includes all access points into the pool area and closed and locked at the end of each practice/contest and the pool are is emply.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. A minimum of three (3) years successful experience as a head coach ofswimming and/or diving in college or high school OR at least five (5) years of successful experience as an assistant indoor track equipment coach in college or high school is preferred.
2. CPR and First Aid certified. Lifeguard certified preferred.
3. Knowledge of care, use and selection of equipment.
