Writing 40%:

    • Write clear, concise, and engaging articles that convey complex scientific concepts to a diverse audience.
    • Craft compelling narratives around scientific papers, breakthroughs, and accomplishments.
    • Ensure accuracy, coherence, and adherence to the Nicholas School of the Environment's editorial guidelines.

Interviewing 25%:

    • Coordinate and conduct interviews with subject matter experts, researchers, and scholars.
    • Prepare interview questions that delve into the intricacies of scientific papers and breakthroughs.
    • Record and transcribe interviews accurately for reference during the writing process.

Editing 20%:

    • Review and edit drafts for grammar, syntax, and style consistency.
    • Incorporate feedback from editors and stakeholders to refine the content.
    • Fact-check information and verify sources to maintain credibility.

Research 15%:

  • Conduct thorough research on assigned topics related to environmental science.
  • Gather relevant scientific literature, reports, and data from reputable sources.

Deliverables:

  • Drafts of articles submitted for review on agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Finalized articles ready for publication, meeting all quality standards and specifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Must hold abachelor or master degree. Preferably in Journalism, English, Communications, or a Biomedical science field.

Experience

Work requires five years of directly related writing experience. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Preferably working in a biomedical research/academic medical institution.
