Occupational Summary:

Assist with systems and processes required to prepare budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information originating in the University Budget Office.

Duties:

Coordinate and assist with processes required to provide functional support to university departments for the budget development system; includes but is not limited to service on collaborative project team, primary functional support during annual budget development and variance reporting cycles, and data validation across integrated systems.

Assist with the creation and validation of statistics used to facilitate distribution of facility and administrative costs across multiple entities.

Create and maintain workbooks required to reconcile and validate monthly space and general administrative allocations.

Assist with the preparation and publication of budget and cost allocation reports used by university departments, including senior leadership.

Assist Manager, Budgets and Analysis with coordinating the preparation of Duke University's annual and quarterly financial reports for senior management and Board of Trustee review.

Perform other special projects and related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications:

Education/Training

Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.

Experience

Work requires three years’ experience in financial management, cost accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Skills

Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and SAP (including Business Warehouse)

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. CPA is desirable.

Experience

Work requires three years experience in financial management, cost OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment.
