Description Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a School Nurse. Location to be determined.

Job Summary:
The school nurse works with district staff and community health providers to maintain optimal health and safety practices in school communities, support classroom teachers in providing health related curriculum, coordinate special care accommodations to allow students to fully participate in school activities, and ensure compliance with health related laws and standards.

Successful candidates for this position will possess:
Registered nurse in Iowa
Driver’s license

Highly Qualified Candidates for the position will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
Statement of Professional Recognition through the Board of Educational Examiners
Experience in pediatric nursing or public health nursing

Contract days vary by assignment
7.75 hours

Salary schedule is attached.

Candidates offered employment will be compensated based on skills, work experience and education.
