Description Job Summary:
Support language acquisition of English Language Learners by helping prepare for materials and assist student academically.

Successful candidates for this position will possess:
  • High School Diploma, HiSET or G.E.D.
  • One of the following:
    • a. 48 credit hours post-secondary education
    • b. Associate's Degree or higher
    • c. Para Educator Certification from the Board of Educational Examiers (or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment)
    • d. combined score of 150 or higher on the COMPASS test or
    • e. a passing score on the Accuplacer test
  • Bilingual or Multingual

Highly Qualified Candidates for the position will possess:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, student services, world language or related field.
  • Experience working with children and families with a refugee or immigrant background.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of working with the English Language Learners.
  • Knowledge of second language acquisition and second language instruction program.
  • Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.

7.50 hours

Salary starting at $15.96

Candidates offered employment will be compensated based on skills, work experience and education.
