General Statement of Duties
PURPOSE:
- The Data Management Specialist (DMS) is responsible for all of the school’s data and reporting needs and for maintaining an accurate, updated student information system. The data produced by the DMS supports grant reporting, our lottery process, and meeting state requirements.
- The DMS coordinates all aspects of student registration with partnering school divisions and provides guidance for clerical personnel in registering students and maintaining student files.
- The DMS is the liaison with the Virginia Department of Education responsible for accurately reporting and maintaining student testing information.
Essential Duties
The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds
Daily Professional Expectations:
- Monitor student data and provide accurate data collection and reporting to create and maintain an accurate, updated student information system in PowerSchool.
- Manage all state (and as needed local, national) reporting in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Education
- Collaboratively develop, review, and update student and school level reports to improve instruction and personalized learning
- Coordinate the student registration system and provide guidance for clerical staff as needed; functions as the school registrar, including providing reports as requested to school division partners
- Coordinate attendance processes and provide guidance for clerical staff as needed
- Collaborate with the Student Services Department to provide transcript services
- Create reports on student achievement and progress in conjunction with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports program
- Create quarterly and annual reports for the CodeRVA Regional High School Board
- Coordinate all aspects of the student lottery process (application creation and maintenance; liaison with lottery vendor; provide regular reports as requested, etc.)
- Coordinate end of marking period grade collection procedures (grade verifications, report card creation, etc.)
- Collaborate with the Computer Science and Technology Specialist to provide technology infrastructure and network management support
- Assist the Computer Science and Technology Specialist with asset management and internal coordination of repair services of student hardware Collaborate with the Director of Division Testing (DOOT) on data collection and management
- Assist the Associate Principal during the master scheduling process
- Supervise students in non-instructional time as needed during the school day.
- Provide professional development for staff related to above duties as requested
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Three or more years of teaching experience (with demonstrated experience reflective of the requirements of the position) or related division level experience in a public school system or experience in an enterprise information technology organization
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Additional Information
This is a 12-month or 260 Day assignment. Salary will be prorated to the official start date in the assignment.
Minimum Starting Pay: $69,685.70
