Description QUALIFICATIONS:

1) A valid Teaching Certificate per Louisiana Bulletin 746 (Type C or Level 1),

2) Additional criteria as the Board may establish

REPORTS TO: Principal or Assistant Principal

SUPERVISES: Students

JOB GOAL: To ensure that every student is on track to attain a college degree or professional

career through standards-based instruction focused on student proficiency.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The Tangipahoa Parish School System uses the

Louisiana Educator Rubric to evaluate teacher performance (per Bulletin 130 revised May 2024).

Please see below the domains and indicators of evaluation for each teacher in order to promote

professional development to directly support improvements in classroom instruction. By clearly

defining effective teaching and student-centered instruction, this rubric provides educators with a

roadmap for strengthening their practice, facilitating high-quality coaching, and fostering

collaboration around best instructional practices. The Louisiana Educator Rubric brings a

comprehensive focus on four key domains: instruction, planning, environment, and

professionalism.

Domain 1: INSTRUCTION: as evidenced by the following indicators (each indicator is further

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES in addition to the four domains identified in the

Louisiana Educator Rubric and the Employee Code of Conduct Policy:
? Requires regular attendance and punctuality.
? Communicates effectively with students, staff, parents, and community
? Assists in implementing school/Board rules and policies
? Participates in activities to improve professional competence
? Creates partnerships with parents/caregivers and colleagues
? Supports school programs and displays positive attitude
? Completes reports and records as assigned in a timely manner
? Follows district dress code
? Completes the activities outlined in the Individual Growth Plan
? Participates in the development of an Individual Education Plan (IEP), ITP, and/or IFSP as necessary.
? Attends Open House and/or Meet and Greet and one academic event each semester.
? Attends the monthly faculty meeting that is at a set day and time by the school administration (unless an

emergency one is needed) for a reasonable amount of time (approximately 1 hour).

? Any activity that relates to the instructional planning and/or analysis of student work for the teacher’s
assigned courses are considered part of the instructional responsibilities necessary in order to support the

academic growth of students towards proficiency.

? To be eligible for a Band Director stipend, the school must have a marching band that participates in band
competitions.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months

EVALUATION: Criteria established by School Board Policy and Bulletin 130 (BESE)
