Coordinates the Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation (MPSF) special events, programs, and engagement opportunities. Facilitates all MPSF special events and engagements. Serves as the primary liaison to all MPS Departments and external partners and stakeholders for program delivery. Serves as an additional face of the MPSF within the local nonprofit community. Participates as part of the MPSF development team to chart the future of the Foundation.

Qualifications

  • The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business, education, communications, non-profit management, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Three - five years of experience in fundraising or business development is desired.
  • A record of managing donor relations and gifts is required.
  • Previous experience in donor stewardship and familiarity with donor management software, accounting software, and related systems are necessary.
  • Foundation or public sector experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and oversees the Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation (MPSF) special events, programs, and engagements including planning and logistics.
  • Executes annual scholarship reception, golf tournament, and select donor/alumni engagement.
  • Facilitates the Foundation’s scholarship program, and manages the communication with new and existing donors, program partners, and scholars.
  • Develops scholarship application process for students and coordinates scholarships (scoring, awarding, reading)
  • Maintains the MPSF scholarship, including preparation of new scholarship agreements, and maintenance and monitoring of existing scholarship agreements.
  • Manages applicant data and reporting, as well as post-award follow-up and tracking through the MPSF scholarship software.
  • Provides fund management support, reviews grant documentation and reporting needs, and establishes timelines/calendars with program partners.
  • Collaborates with the Development and Donor Manager to report to grantors, donors, and external stakeholders promptly.
  • Participates with and represents MPSF in local partner meetings and events as necessary.
  • Identifies new donor or fundraising partnership opportunities.
  • Composes and drafts documents and correspondence for presentations, proposals, and reports.
  • Provides general office administrative and operational support.
  • Assists with marketing and communication support.
  • Creates outreach materials and other collateral for the promotion of all MPSF scholarships, events, and engagement.
  • Utilizes MPFS-specific software and databases for documentation and assists with data entry.
  • Manages volunteers as necessary
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
