About Duke University Health System Clinical Laboratories

Duke Health laboratories are College of American Pathologists accredited and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments certified. The multidisciplinary team is committed to serving the rare and complex testing needs of Duke Health's diverse patient population by providing timely and accurate results, educating the next generation of laboratorians, scientists and physicians, and researching and developing the cutting-edge diagnostics of tomorrow.

Occ Summary
Perform a variety of courier and delivery duties utilizing a motor vehicle as necessary to ensure the proper distribution of messages, mail, materials and supplies, monies, and bank deposits to various areas within the department as well as outlying locations. Within the clinical laboratories, we embrace Duke’s purpose, placing the patient at the center of everything we do. We do this by demonstrating behaviors that focus on delivering patient- and family-centered care and embodying the values that promote a positive work culture. Work Performed
Pick -up, sort, and deliver incoming mail; meter outgoing correspondence and p packages, record postage charges to appropriate departmental component codes for billing; replenish postage in postage meter on an as-needed basis. Maintain equipment and activity log to include records of delivery activity, vehicle mileage, and other dispatch information. Maintained store room and other assigned areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquired through partial high school education.
Experience
Work requires six months of delivery experience.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Valid NC driver's license.
