General Statement of Duties

This assignment encompasses the comprehensive planning and delivery of engaging instruction, coupled with assessment of student performance in banquet and catering management. The objective is to cultivate students' expertise in managerial, production, and service skills, ultimately equipping them with the knowledge and competencies required to excel in leadership roles within the food service industry.

Essential Duties

This is an 11 month/ 239 day vacancy.


The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.


Professional Expectations:

  • Serves as the primary banquet instructor for all events during and/or after school hours. Flexible hours due to events that could include weekends
  • Collaborates with teachers in the culinary department on banquet & catering events held at the school.
  • Knowledge and experience with banquet and catering is required
  • Plans, delivers, and assesses instruction that will prepare students for managerial, production, and service skills used in government, commercial, or independently owned institutional food establishments and related food establishments.
  • Hands-on environment, students practice high-volume on- or off-site food production and banquet/catering management
  • Maintains complete records of student performance and attendance
  • Maintains a professional learning environment and atmosphere conducive to safe, orderly and effective instruction
  • Makes effective use of new technologies in the delivery of instruction
  • Participates in a variety of activities to keep professional skills, curriculum, and instruction current
  • Communicates effectively with students, parents, community, and school personnel
  • Attends work daily and is engaged in job responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must hold a Department of Education teaching license in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) or possess/qualify for a technical professional teaching license in the above mentioned content.
  • Candidates with extensive experience and training in commercial banquet and catering management are encouraged to apply.

Additional Information

This posting is for the 2025-26 SY with a July 28, 2025, contractual start date. The annual salary stated this posting is based on this current school year’s pay plan. The annual salary, for the 2025-2026 school year, will be determined once the 2025-2026 school year financial plan is approved and adopted in the Spring of 2025.

Minimum annual starting salary:

  • $63,921.05 (Bachelors)
  • $66,989.42 (Masters)
