SUMMARY
Under general supervision, monitors student behavior, patrols school facilities, enforces rules of conduct, and assists MPS staff to maintain a positive learning environment for students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Supervise students during free time and recreational periods; monitor students inside and outside MPS facilities and enforce rules of conduct.
* Monitor building entrance, provide front-desk security, and register and track visitors.
* Observe and supervise students in hallways, cafeteria and common areas, and assist in maintaining good student conduct; control student behavior and restrain unruly students as necessary.
* Guide students in work and play activities; recognize, avoid, and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries; report security issues and illegal activities.
* Respond to emergencies and implement appropriate emergency procedures; utilize proper safety precautions in all work performed.
Knowledge of
* MPS district student conduct rules.
* Safety rules and regulations.
* Occupational hazards and safety precautions.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred AND some experience working with children.
