SUMMER FACILITY OPERATIONS HELPER ( Multiple openings available)

Work Year: Temporary Hourly, not benefits eligible

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Start Date: June 5, 2024

End Date: August 18, 2024

Pay Rate: $19.00 hourly

Essential Functions and Objectives:

Employees perform routine lawn maintenance tasks. Working knowledge of basic lawn and garden equipment i.e. Mowers, Edgers, String Trimmers, and Leaf Blowers among others are required. Working under the supervision of the Operations Department Manager or designee(s), the employee performs routine maintenance tasks. Duties include but not limited to;

- Grass mowing, Grass Trimming, Edging of grass along sidewalks, etc. - Clearing vegetation/weed control from cracks in sidewalks and driveways, etc - Trimming of trees/shrubbery, Picking up debris from school properties, Shoveling of dirt, tilling of soil around trees and shrubbery and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

- Ability to perform manual labor.

- Ability to work in environments that may contain allergens such as pollen, dust, grass, etc

- Able to lift at least 50 pounds, using appropriate lifting techniques.

- Must be at least 16 years old, possess a valid class “R” Colorado driver’s license, and meet DPS insurance requirements.

- Must wear appropriate clothing and Personal Protective Equipment (No Earbuds!!) to commensurate with outdoor/lawn work and inclement weather conditions.

- Must be willing to work outdoors in the heat and all types of weather conditions. - Prior experience is preferred.

Work days are 8 1/2 hours with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks. The expected term of employment is for up to 10 weeks Monday through Friday; these are not permanent positions however, this could be less for some employees due to funding limitations. If funding is available some positions may be extended, but will not be made permanent or year-round. The Superintendent, or designee, may consider any candidate who, in their judgment, is

best qualified for the position and will determine when the position will be staffed. Preference will be given to applicants who have satisfactorily worked as seasonal employees over the past summers.
