Occ Summary

Perform a variety of routine duties in a hospita l clinic to assistmedical and nursing staff in the examination and treat ment of patients;set up and clean examination rooms.

Perform a variety of routine duties in a hospital clinic to assistmedical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of p atientsto include obtaining and recording data for medicalrecords, coll ectingand preparing specimens for laboratory analysis and undressing,cleansing and positioning patients for specific procedures.Perform routine examination and treatment procedures to includeadministering enemas, rem oving casts, cleaning wounds and applyingmedications and dressings.Set u p and clean examination roomsto include changing linen and making beds; set up instruments andequipment for specific procedures; hand instrument s, supplies andequipment to examining physician.Pick up and deliverspeci mens, equipment, messages and supplies as directed; maintaininventory of supplies in examination rooms, replenish as required.Escort and transpo rt patients to various hospital locations;schedule patient appointments and prepare related records.Maintain work area in clean and orderly cond ition; wash andsterilize a variety of medical supplies.Perform other rel atedduties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications


Education

Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred. High School diploma or GED graduation required


Experience

Work generally requires six monthsof experience in the healthcare setting. Education in a health related field can be used as a substitute for the experience.


Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Must be fully certified as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA) within 18 months of hire.
