Summary:

The Assistant Director for Experiential Learning (level 11) is the main point of contact for all Masters of Management Studies (MMS) Program FCCP related activities and initiatives, and is responsible for providing operational oversight for the MMS FCCP program. This position is also responsible for a range of marketing and operational activities to support initiatives of the Experiential Learning Office (ELO) at the Fuqua School of Business. The position reports to the Associate Director, Experiential Learning. This position requires outstanding organizational and project management skills, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to prioritize activities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. This position will engage in the promotion of FCCP programs through various marketing efforts, and requires the ability to work independently, effectively under pressure, and in a fast-moving environment. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines particularly with changing priorities and exercise sound judgment and discretion. The Assistant Director for Experiential Learning must have the ability to work and communicate independently and effectively with Fuqua administrators, faculty, students, and University offices.

Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Associate Director, Experiential Learning and the Faculty Co-Directors of FCCP in the implementation of processes for experiential learning offerings, namely MMS projects and cross program marketing and operational activities.

MMS FCCP Projects (50%):

  • Lead program communication with MMS students and serve as the primary staff contact for student questions and concerns
  • Plan, prepare and deliver relevant content for key events related to the execution of MMS FCCP projects, such as faculty coordination sessions, student information sessions, Engagement Manager training sessions
  • Contribute to client sourcing efforts; design and operate a client application process, communicating with prospective clients and informing applicants of selection decisions
  • Promote the FCCP program to students and assist with team matching process
  • Serve as a strategic partner with faculty in the execution of MMS FCCP projects

Operations coordination (30%):

  • Work with Fuqua’s ETS team to set up Canvas pages for the Experiential Learning Office programs (FCCP and Mentored Study)
  • Establish relationship with ELO’s vendor EduSourced and assist with the annual set up of project team workspaces (uploading students to correct project teams, refreshing assignment dates and editing templates)
  • Assist ELO team with cyclical responsibilities including but not limited to client sourcing and alumni tracking
  • Ongoing management of IT systems connected with the student experience (Canvas pages for each course, EduSourced platform,Fuqua Connect) and related execution of site prep and student registration foreach cycle
  • Management of surveys to capture student and client feedback
  • Manage the department’s CRM platform and the associated client tracking and data entry. This includes using the platform for regular client maintenance communications.

Marketing Coordination (20%):

  • Promote the FCCP programs to internal and external audiences by collaborating with Fuqua Marketing team and writing relevant content for the Experiential Learning Office (ELO) including emails, newsletters, brochures, case studies, and other marketing campaigns/collateral as needed
  • Ensure website content is updated to reflect accurate information and details across all of the Experiential Learning Office’s programs
  • Coordinate with Fuqua's marketing team to plan social media stories (such as Instagram takeovers etc.) including creating content, suggesting story ideas, and engaging with students from our Experiential Learning programs to participate in social media activities
  • Plan a handful of events throughout the year in support of Experiential Learning Office initiatives including the annual convening of Fuqua’s Experiential Learning Working Group, annual program debriefs, and events related to client engagement and sourcing where appropriate

Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  • Work requires analytical and communication skills as well as familiarity with the academic setting generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
  • Work requires at least three years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in higher education, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Two or more years working in a higher education setting and some client-facing experience or other relevant industry experience
  • Sharp stakeholder focus, which include working with external client organizations, Fuqua students, alumni, and institutional partners within Fuqua and Duke

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work generally requires two years experience in personnel, college or university administration, or a related field to acquire skills necessary to provide program management, advising and general administrative support or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
