The Sr Analyst, Business Systems will be joining the Technology Reporting and Analytics team within FP&A which consolidates Technology’s financial and operational data to provide meaningful and timely insights to the highest levels of T-Mobile’s Executive Leadership team.

This role will support the Field Engineering business function and serve as a liaison bridging the gap between business, finance and IT, being able to understand the technical aspect of Finance systems, more specifically as it relates to T-Mobile's Capital Reporting Analytics and Forecasting Tool (CRAFT) powered by OneStream. This includes ownership of workflows, cube functionality and how it fits in the overall application, as well as creating reporting and dashboards, document processes and hold business teams accountable for completing tasks.

The right candidate will have a natural analytical way of thinking, have a knack for using and understanding technology, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, always seeking to understand the why behind processes and is able to partner with finance leads to identify opportunities to drive change. Responsibilities include hands-on OneStream maintenance (updating and creating workflows, cube views, dashboards), troubleshooting data issues within the CRAFT solution, which includes the ability to write SQL.
  • Partnering with finance and business SMEs to initiate and elaborate on requirements, understand priority and urgency as it relates to established processes. Has the ability to understand when technical SMEs need to be engaged, and is able to describe and document issues to the technical team.
  • Owning and conducting proof of concepts in partnership with  finance and business SMEs, suggesting and initiating requirements in anticipation of changing business needs
  • Perform UAT on changes implemented by the technical team with the ability to foresee other impacts and test those as well, acting on behalf of business to minimize any production set-backs
  • Own workflows, and understand sequence of tasks in order to support business process. Includes running any manual data management jobs, and/or add automation to the scheduler. Understand impacts to reporting and other objects when changes are necessary
  • Creation and modification of cube views, quick views, dashboards, books in OneStream to make insights and analytics available to business based on verbalized requirements as well as anticipating business needs and is able to suggest/create insights that will get ahead of the changing business needs. This may include creating PowerBI dashboards when data outside OneStream may be needed for making sound business decisions
  • Validate data accuracy with the ability to follow the data flow into source systems, partnering with other teams in order to identify root cause, and consult on solution design and implementations

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of SQL experience.  The candidate should have a strong understanding of SQL and be able to write complex queries to extract data from databases.
  • Experience mining data and developing reports using a variety of reporting/analytics software packages with an aptitude for learning new reporting software packages.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision and strong organizational, problem solving, and analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage competing priorities & deliverables in a fast-paced, dead-line oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analysis skills.
  • Understanding of business financial and accounting concepts (Accruals, Reversals, GAAP principles etc.) is a plus.
  • Understanding of multi-dimensional concepts and systems (Hyperion, OneStream etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with a scripting language (e.g., Python, R) and knowledge of statistical modeling and analysis is a plus.

Washington Pay Range: $105,200 - $142,400

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
