Description The Cumberland Valley School District is hiring elementary teachers now (2023-2024 school year) for the 2024-2025 school year. This teaching opportunity is a full-time, contracted position available for a start date as soon as the selected candidate can successfully begin their employment. During the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year, this individuals will serve in a flexible capacity supporting our eight elementary schools. A teaching position/classroom will be assigned during the summer for the 2024-2025 school year. December 2023, May 2024, as well as other currently certificated educators, are encouraged to apply.

An active Elementary Education K-6, PK-4, or Grades 4-8 Pennsylvania Teaching Certification is required. Candidates who possess multiple certifications are preferred. Prior experience as an elementary school teacher and special education certification are also preferred. The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the physical and psychological aspects of elementary aged children and possess good communication skills. The selected candidate must be able to understand, teach, and engage students with the approved curriculum. The professional candidate(s) selected for this assignment understands and agrees that they may be required to teach in a face-to-face, blended, or online format as requested by administration. In addition to being qualified and knowledgeable in the specific area of certification required, we are seeking individuals trained in:

If selected for an interview the following original items must be presented at that time:
  1. Copy of teaching certificate
  2. Copy of PRAXIS results (if applicable)
  3. Official college and/or university transcripts

If hired for employment, the applicant must be able to submit the following clearances:
  1. Criminal Record Check (less than one year old)
  2. PA Child Abuse History Clearance (less than one year old)
  3. FBI Finger Print Clearance (less than one year old)
