The Community Programs Manager will serve as an ambassador for MSK in New Jersey, increasing MSK’s engagement with the community and local visibility, and supporting MSK’s leadership in promoting health equity.

You Will:

  • Create and support relationships with MSK’s neighbors and diverse external groups by arranging introductory meetings, attending coalition meetings and events, and maintaining regular touchpoints.
  • Foster recognition for MSK and promote MSK services and programs to the public by staffing events, creating sponsorships, and implementing other strategic collaborations.
  • Proactively gather information about local needs and concerns and communicate with MSK leadership about opportunities to address these.
  • Collaborate with MSK staff in developing and implementing new programs to serve the community and raise awareness about MSK services.
  • Recruit and manage volunteer MSK staff to participate in community events.
  • Write brief articles and social media posts about MSK programs.
  • Maintain careful records and support institutional reporting about MSK efforts and relationships.

  • Knowledgeable about different New Jersey communities and populations and excel at networking.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple assignments and fulfill deadlines.
  • Skilled at presenting to and writing for diverse audiences.
  • Willing to take action and eager to accept new opportunities with energy and passion.
  • Detail-oriented, creative, and thoughtful in implementing events and projects.
  • A teammate with excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to be transparent and collaborative in meeting shared goals.
  • Committed to health equity.

You Have:

  • Networks in and deep knowledge of the New Jersey counties surrounding MSK facility locations
  • Experience planning events and sponsorships with small organizations including local chambers of commerce, churches, government, healthcare, nonprofits, and civic groups.
  • Demonstrated ability managing volunteers and community groups.
  • Experience working with local media.
  • 4-7 years of related experience in Marketing and Communications or Health Education.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Experience working with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.

Pay Range: $88,800.00-$142,200.00
