The Nurse Manager is a registered and professional nurse who serves under the leadership of the Catawba Division Chief Nursing Officer. The Nurse Manager supervises, directs nursing care, and all related activities, in a designated area according to policies, procedures, mission and objectives of MUSC Health Chester Medical Center. The Nurse Manager is responsible for recommending, developing, and implementing policies and procedures in conjunction with the CNO of both progress and potential problems. The Nurse Manager will provide professional nursing care, initiate contact with the physicians and patients to establish and address needs and expectations, and serve as a resource person for other staff members. The Nurse Manager is also responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery and for collaborating with all members of the health care team.

The Nurse Manager will be required to work at least 40 hours per week with a minimum of 12 hours in a clinical shift.

Experience: Five years experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting required. Two years of supervisory experience required. Extensive knowledge of
the unit's patient population, health care trends, community and regional resources and service availability to these populations. An ability to establish working relationships with diverse groups and individual, medical staff and other health care disciplines

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. Master of Nursing (MSN) preferred.

License/Certification: Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a Compact State required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Heart
Association (AHA) required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and NIHSS stroke scale certification with American Heart Association (AHA) required if unit specified
