Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
: To ensure the provision of an optimal building technology support environment in order to support the educational and business needs of Harrisburg School District.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with the Infrastructure and Building Support Lead and IT Manager to support District building technology needs and communicate specific needs or recommendations.
Maintain and support hardware inventory and configuration of District end user systems.
Provide front-line support for software and hardware solutions and escalate needs to appropriate personnel when necessary.
Meet with building administration regularly to ensure that available hardware and software is configured to support the efficient provision of student education.
Cross-train with other Building Support personnel in all buildings, areas, and disciplines relevant to the operation of the District’s Building Support systems in order to eliminate any single point of failure or knowledge for tasks critical to the operation of the District.
Additional Job Functions
Work with Infrastructure Support and Software Support personnel to ensure that building technology services support the needs and requirements of their responsibilities and their end users.
Maintain, replace, image, upgrade, and troubleshoot PC and mobile hardware and software.
Backup and restore user files and configurations during upgrades or equipment replacement.
Work with and train users on the usage of technology systems to perform and become more efficient in their duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Training, Knowledge, and Skills Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in computer related discipline preferred; five (2) years of experience working with technology systems, administration, and end user support.
Technical certifications such as MCSE/MCSA, VCP, A+, Network+, or similar preferred.
Extensive experience in technology support.
Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe software, system imaging, software installation and configuration, hardware troubleshooting and repair, file backup and restoration, ability to work with vendors to process warranty and repair issues, and system/process automation solutions preferred.
Strong experience in customer/user focus and support.
Sound understanding of the principles of building technology day to day operations, accompanied by a responsibility for user and data security.
Time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to multitask and consistently meet strict deadlines.
