Job Description Summary

The US Technologist, under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Director, performs all procedures in accordance with ACR, ARRT, state Operates ultrasound equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. Reviews physician requisition orders and instructions concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedure. Ultrasound technologists must communicate with all members of the care team including physicians, nurses, and other staff members related to the patient’s care concerning the status of the patient’s condition pre and post procedure. Performs ultrasound imaging on a wide range of conditions and acuity in both a hospital and OB/GYN clinic based setting.

Job Description

Operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. Reviews physician requisition orders and instructions concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedure. May communicates to OB/GYN nursing team status of patient condition pre and post procedure. Performs ultrasound imaging for fetal diagnosis and anomaly detection for patients with high risk indications.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduate of an approved and accredited Ultrasound program

Licenses/Certificates:                                                                                                            • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or ARDMS registered or registry eligible

• CPR certification required.
