Job Description Summary
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for using leadership skills to effectively direct and manage the hospital functions on a designated shift. Acts on behalf of Administration while conferring with the nursing staff, physicians and other department personnel, as necessary, to meet the overall needs of patients. Has access to and knowledge of those areas of the Hospital that impact patient care, but are not operational on a 24 hour a day basis. Informs the hospital administrator on call of any situation that may require attention. Manages staffing to provide continuity of professional nursing care.Entity

Additional Job Description
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse required. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
Licenses/Certificates: Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) required. Some positions require certification in AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), AHA Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification and Crisis Prevention
