Job Description Summary
The Data Engineer II reports to the Manager of Data Operations in support of MUSC’s academic, research and healthcare missions. Under indirect supervision, the Data Engineer II (Cogito Systems Administrator) installs and maintains the Clarity Console and Caboodle Console used to transfer data nightly from your Epic operational database into your Clarity database, and then into the Caboodle database. They also monitor and ensure that the extract, transfer, and load (ETL) process is completed daily.Entity

Job Description
The Data Engineer II reports to the Manager of Data Operations in support of MUSC’s academic, research and healthcare missions. Under indirect supervision, the Data Engineer II (Cogito Systems Administrator) installs and maintains the Clarity Console and Caboodle Console used to transfer data nightly from your Epic operational database into your Clarity database, and then into the Caboodle database. They also monitor and ensure that the extract, transfer, and load (ETL) process is completed daily.
Additional Job Description
Education/Work Experience:
A high school diploma and four years of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree and two years directly related experience required. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and customer communication skills are required.
Must be able to demonstrate skills for learning new technologies, coding and manipulating data for automated solutions, designing for customer oriented solutions, and redesigning processes for improved outcomes. Must also be able to demonstrate good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree or formal training in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or another technical discipline preferred.
SQL Server Proficiency in intermediate topics like CTEs, Advanced T-SQL Queries, and Stored Procedures strongly preferred.
