Job Description

The Department of Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is currently seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon who has completed a SSO certified Breast or Surgical Oncology fellowship for a full-time academic Breast Surgery position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with a minimum 3 years of professional practice experience in the field of breast surgery.  The physician will be joining the growing Division of Surgical Oncology/HPB Surgery to expand our multidisciplinary breast program at the NCI-designated Hollings Cancer Center and within our robust regional healthcare network.  The Division of Surgical Oncology/HPB is led by Kevin Roggin MD FACS FSSO and includes three Sections (Abdominal Surgical Oncology/HPB, the Section of Breast, Melanoma and Sarcoma Surgery, and the Section of Endocrine Surgery).  Our group includes 14 surgeons, five research faculty, a comprehensive genetics team, 9 advanced practice providers, and two CMA/LPN.

Clinical responsibilities include providing comprehensive breast surgical care to patients primarily at MUSC Health in Charleston (Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC, West Ashley Medical Pavilion Breast Center, MUSC East Cooper) with additional practice opportunities at the MUSC Health H.F. Mabry Cancer Center in Orangeburg, SC.  An interest in academic medicine with a desire to conduct research and participate in clinical trial enrollment is preferred.  The candidate will also have the opportunity to apply for leadership positions at MUSC.
