Job Description Summary
Laboratory Associates (LA) support high quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory and report to section manager. Under general supervision, LA's in this role will process specimens for testing at reference laboratories, package shipments for courier and FedEx/UPS delivery, participate in specimen preparation for specialized studies, and prepare billing and prior authorization workups. LA's also recognize and evaluate computer data problems, troubleshoot laboratory instruments, perform preventative maintenance, communicate technical information to medical and lay persons, assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures, participate in continuing education, and model Standards of Behavior in daily interactions and activities.Entity

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
* Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences including:
* 24 semester hours of science courses that include:
* Six semester hours of chemistry
* Six semester hours of biology
* 12 semester hours of any combination of chemical or biological sciences
