Job Description Summary

Working in concert with the MUSC Health Midlands Division CEO, this position will be responsible for relationship management of key external stakeholders in the Columbia area with a special focus on community, business, and industry leaders. Maintain existing relationships with stakeholders to ensure success of collaborations; identify and build new relationships to establish unique collaborations and partnerships. Extend existing MUSC partnerships to the MUSC Health Midlands Division. Oversee and foster long-term relationships with the portfolio of assigned stakeholders. External stakeholders could include industry, community-based organizations and non-profits, higher education organizations, health care entities, individuals, and existing partners. The role will require close collaboration with the Office of Government Affairs and the Office of Institutional Advancement given their responsibilities with other key external stakeholders including elected officials, government agencies, and donors respectively.

Job Description

  • Build, maintain, and enhance long-lasting relationships with external stakeholders. Identify and conduct research on external stakeholders and potential partners.
  • Extend existing MUSC partnerships to the Midlands Division.
  • Understand and master the MUSC enterprise to connect external stakeholders to appropriate internal resources. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the MUSC’s Midlands Division programs and capital priorities to articulate needs to partners and the community.
  • Maintain and refresh MUSC’s external affairs strategy for the Midlands region on a biannual basis in concert with the MUSC Health Midlands Division CEO.
  • Manage and solve challenges with stakeholders as well as related internal challenges with ability to escalate as needed.
  • Interact and coordinate with partners and internal stakeholders to operationalize collaborations and partnerships.
  • Prepare reports on status of external stakeholders; brief, communicate, and prepare members of the Midlands and enterprise leadership teams on progress. Prepare accurate and compelling proposals.
  • Assist in the development of new partnerships including innovative business models and new ways of interfacing with external entities.
  • Represent MUSC at community and business events which will require public speaking and strong leadership skills.
  • Create and manage a portfolio of 25-75 high-impact stakeholders through personal interactions.
  • Use portfolio metrics to track progress and success.
  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries; maintain accurate information in the database. Track metrics and analyze data and work on special projects as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience
