Reports to: Director of Safety and Security
Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator works under the general supervision of the Director of Safety and Security. The Safety Coordinator supports and manages the day-to-day operations of the Safety Monitor Program. The School Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors on the school campus. This position is responsible for supervising the School District's Safety Leads and Safety Monitors, ensuring they are performing their duties effectively and in accordance with school policies, procedures, and State law. The School Safety Coordinator will work collaboratively with school administrators, staff, and law enforcement to maintain a safe, supportive, and secure learning environment.
Essential Functions
Supervise, train, and evaluate Safety Leads and Safety Monitors assigned to the Safety Monitor Department.
Provide daily oversight of the Safety Department across all School District campuses, ensuring staff adherence to safety protocols and School District policies and procedures.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and recommend staff development or corrective actions as necessary.
Supervise the placement and duties of Safety Leads and Safety Monitors to ensure adequate coverage throughout the school day.
Ensures training is provided as required for all safety personnel in areas such as conflict resolution, emergency procedures, school resource officer certification, CPR, and Safe Crisis Management.
Collaborate with the school principal, teachers, and staff to ensure that safety protocols are integrated into daily routines and activities.
Assist in the development and management of safety-related budgets and resources.
Coordinate responses to incidents, ensuring appropriate communication between staff, administration, and external emergency responders.
Assist in the development and management of safety-related budgets and resources.
Analyze incident reports and safety data to identify trends and develop strategies for improving School District safety.Attends training, meetings, and conferences as directed that support the work.

Will represent the District in meetings as needed.
Proficient in utilizing a computer. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Maintains accurante records and documentation as required.
