Job Description Summary

The Pediatric Echo Lead reports to the Pediatric Interventional Cardiac and Imaging Manager. Under indirect supervision, the Pediatric Echo Lead provides high quality echocardiograms for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Cardiologist in a professional manner that is consistent with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.  This role requires independent and efficient performance of clinical Pediatric Echo operations in the hospital and procedural setting, entering full preliminary reports, primarily focused on our SJCH (hospital) location. This role organizes and prioritizes patient exams and contributes to unit teamwork while acting as a liaison between the team and the manager. The Pediatric Echo lead is responsible for accreditation renewals, equipment maintenance and maintaining competencies within the echo lab.

Job Description

First level management. Typically supervises one or more areas of a department. Supervises two or more professional and or support staff at work as well as their day to day activities. Typically does not have the authority to hire, fire, or promote but their input on these types of actions is highly considered. Main focus is on each employee they manage. May coordinate the business aspects of a department to include but not limited to strategy, project management, budget planning and oversight and financial operations.

Operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 6 years progressive work experience and 1 years management experience
