Job Description

Specialize in magnetic resonance imaging scanners. They inject patients with contrast media, such as a dye, so that the images will show up on the scanner. The scanners use magnetic fields in combination with the contrast agent to produce images that a physician can use to diagnose medical problems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move patients, possibly in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Capacity to bend, stoop, and reach to operate equipment and assist patients.
  • Manual dexterity for handling delicate machinery and positioning patients.
  • Visual acuity to monitor screens and assess images accurately.
  • Hearing acuity to communicate with patients and colleagues effectively.
  • Stamina to handle a demanding workload and maintain focus during procedures.
  • Adaptability to work in various positions and environments, including confined spaces.
  • Compliance with safety protocols to minimize exposure to magnetic fields and radiation.
  • Awareness of potential hazards and proper techniques for mitigating risks in the MRI environment.

Additional Job Description

Education:  2 year ARRT or MRI registered equivalent Work Experience: 2-4 years
