Job Summary: The Department of Microbiology & Immunology Fiscal Technician II serves as the primary resource for procurement, purchasing policies and procedures. Assist with the coordination fiscal activities for the Microbiology & Immunology and responsible for weekly procurement reports.

Job Description

Process all OurDay orders, including travel reimbursements, purchasing card transactions, purchase requisitions, and IITs.  Ensures transactions are accurate and approved. Coordinates with faculty, staff, vendors, University departments, Procurement, and Accounts Payable to complete transactions.  Process check requests, honorariums, laboratory supplies, animals and equipment via OurDay, purchase requisitions, IITs, the purchasing card or other MUSC approved mechanisms. 35%

Timekeeper (Serve as backup to the departments timekeeper); ensuring all OurDay information entered in a timely manner and in compliance with University policy, track monitor leave time for the department provide monthly reports. 20%

Assist with the J-1, H-1B (Support the departmental human resources and visa procedures. Facilitate form completion and obtain required documents as needed. Work closely within involved parties (Administrative Manager, HR, visa holder, new hire personnel, etc.) to insure required items are completed and submitted on time to insure seamless onboarding. 15%

Assist with navigating procurement issues as well as other departmental duties.  Monitoring the completion of large purchases with the department. Maintain Pcard tracking system Providing policy support for the department employees. Maintain Petty cash 20%

Annual Equipment Inventory – Property Liaison (Responsible for new equipment properly tagged, equipment surplus coordination and fixed asset tracking. Works with faculty to ensure all lab closeouts completed prior to faculty departure. Initiate Engineering and Facilities work orders including follow-up. Responsible for coordinating maintenance and repair of shared and individual laboratory equipment.  5%
