Job Description Summary

The College of Medicine Dean's Office COE IT team is recruiting for an IT Specialist III. This position coordinates and performs maintenance and development of the Information Technology systems that support the College of Medicine. Participates in the planning of new and ongoing IT system requirements for College of Medicine IT supported activities. Documentation of projects, procedures, and systems intended for other members of the College of Medicine Center of Expertise (COE) IT team.

Job Description

35% - Maintain and troubleshoot problems with College of Medicine workstations, printers, personal data devices, and other information devices. - (Essential)

20% - Identify, configure, install, and troubleshoot appropriate software for faculty and staff. - (Essential)

20% - Specify, install, and configure workstations, printers, personal data devices, and other information devices for College of Medicine faculty and staff. - (Essential)

10% - Maintain complete and accurate inventory control procedures for Information Technology equipment and software licenses. Manage surplus intake, data sanitization, documentation, and outflow. - (Essential)

5% - Maintain and configure server-based systems and system documentation. Manage and create data repositories, in support of College of Medicine data collection and reporting. - (Essential)

5% - Maintain and support Audio/Visual enabled rooms. Participate in Grand Rounds rotation coverage and support. Participate in video editing for Grand Rounds. - (Essential)

5% - Create documentation and training on IT related topics and train faculty and staff as appropriate. - (Essential)

MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:

A high school diploma and two years experience in office automation systems, data communications systems design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems.  An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
