Job Description Summary

The Addiction Sciences Division in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a full-time faculty member to provide various responsibilities within the division. The candidate will engage in clinical research, both as principal investigator and as collaborator, focused on understanding and developing integrated treatments to address the co-occurrence of trauma-related and substance use disorders.

Job Description

The responsibilities of the position include:

Research: 

  • Serve as principal investigator (PI) with a program of research focused on understanding and developing integrated treatments to address the co-occurrence of trauma-related and substance use disorders.
  • Work closely with other PIs on the data analysis, interpretation, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of results on existing grants focused on relevant topics.   
  • Plan and prepare grant applications, both as PI and in collaboration with other researchers.
  • Develop and supervise a research team adept at managing the logistical and regulatory aspects of clinical research protocols. (a) Prepare regulatory submissions as required; (b) Initiate and maintain accurate and comprehensive study documentation as required by Food and Drug Administration, Institutional Review Board, study sponsors, and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.; (c) Coordinate eIRB/IRB communication and manage audits.

Clinical Service:

  • Provide clinical oversight, supervision, and service on research protocols, as necessary.
  • Evaluate participants for enrollment in research studies through diagnostic interviews and psychiatric assessments. Collaborate with research staff and investigators to determine eligibility of research participants.    

      

FLSA: Exempt

Minimum Qualifications: Must hold a terminal degree such as a MD, PhD, or related. Must hold a clinical psychology degree or similar.

(Continuous) Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually. Ability to work alone in isolated areas, such as darkrooms. (Frequent) Additional New Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license. Computer literacy. Ability to work rotating shifts as required. Ability to work overtime as required. Ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required.
