Description STEELS Facilitator - Elementary
Job Summary: Elementary STEELS Facilitator focuses on sharing, modeling, and supporting phenomena-based learning within elementary
science classrooms across elementary schools. The facilitator supports teachers by providing authentic experiences that
engage students in asking questions and establishing evidence of the content principles to help them make sense of that
experience. The facilitator supports and reinforces the district’s elementary PA STEELS-driven science instructional program;
creates class environments favorable to academic achievement, positive peer relationships, and individual student growth and
proficiency; creates opportunities for students to develop foundational science skills, inquisitive mindsets and grade-level
content knowledge required for success with current and future science standards; and develops and maintains appropriate,
effective, productive relationships with students, district families, colleagues, and other staff members.
